You can call me Nate. I’m a lifelong outdoor sports enthusiast and artist who was lucky enough to blend these two passions into a career creating technical outerwear, equipment, and apparel for brands I believe in.
While studying at the Art Institute of Seattle, I snagged a dream internship at Snowboard Connection. This shop represented everything at the heart of snowboard and skate culture and served as the perfect incubator for me to find my initial footing as a graphic artist in the boardsports industry. From there, I grew from gig to gig—building creative and marketing skills in various agencies, developing technical outdoor product design skills, and honing my craft.
I had the rich experience of wearing every possible creative hat during a pivotal phase for TREW Gear, serving as creative director and owning the brand’s entire aesthetic story, from product design to trim details to web design to marketing. It was a period of exceptional growth for me and for TREW. Soon after, I moved back to Dakine, where I’d spent a few years as a graphic designer previously. Now, it was time to step into a R&D role in Dakine’s product design, taking responsibility for the end-to-end product creation in two key product lines: snow and bike.
Today, I relish every creative challenge and every fresh turn in my career as a designer, creative director, and outdoor industry product expert. I savor any chance to push to new places—whether that’s on the mountain, mtb trails or at my desk solving a design challenge.
In my free time, I … wait, I don’t have any. I’m a new dad. But soon, I’ll be out boarding and biking with a junior shredder in tow.
